From Certification To Craftsmanship: The Practice Of Pursuit Of Excellenc in Propeller Manufacturing

Oct 24, 2025

In the field of propeller manufacturing, "pursuit of excellence" is never just a slogan, but a practical commitment that starts with five authoritative certifications-CCS (China Classification Society), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), BV (Bureau Veritas), RINA (Registro Italiano Navale), and DNV (Det Norske Veritas)-and runs through every production process.

In the molding phase, our craftsmen use 3D scanners to recheck the surface precision of sand molds every 20 minutes, strictly controlling errors within 0.02mm. This not only meets certification standards but also exceeds CCS requirements by 30% and is 0.01mm stricter than ABS precision thresholds. "A tiny flaw in the mold leads to huge defects in the final product"-this dedication to the initial form is the first line of quality control.

During casting, we adopt a "dual-furnace synchronous pouring" process for molten copper alloys, locking the temperature difference within ±5℃ and controlling the pouring speed to the nearest millimeter per second. This operation not only easily passes BV's material strength inspections but also improves casting density by 20%, ensuring durability from the source.

The machining phase reveals true craftsmanship: German-imported machines, paired with independently developed error compensation algorithms, stabilize taper machining precision at ±0.01mm-80% higher than industry standards and far exceeding RINA's requirements. During fine polishing, even if the surface roughness already meets CCS's Ra1.6μm standard, any minor scratch triggers a full rework, ultimately achieving a roughness of Ra0.4μm.news-4032-3024

Inspection goes beyond certification standards: dye testing includes DNV's required 24-hour penetration process plus an additional -10℃ low-temperature simulation test; dynamic balance testing achieves a residual unbalance of only 0.5g, well below BV's 1.2g limit. Last year, when customizing a 12-meter-diameter propeller for a European client, we strictly adhered to dual certification standards throughout. Post-delivery, the client reported, "Power efficiency increased by 5%, and sailing noise decreased by 3 decibels."
