Blade Profile Analysis | Lifa Propeller Bionic Energy-Saving Blade: A Precision Flow Control Solution
Feb 09, 2026
In the production workshop of Lifa Propeller, a four-blade MAU propeller is neatly placed in a custom wooden case, awaiting shipment. The distinctive diamond texture on the blade surface is the core symbol of Lifa's exclusive bionic energy-saving blade profile, and also a technological achievement forged through hundreds of fluid simulations and full-scale ship tests.

The core design of this blade profile is a precision flow control solution based on the principles of bionic hydrodynamics. The gradient twist from the blade root to the tip simulates the streamlined shape of the fins of marine organisms, which can significantly optimize the adhesion of water flow on the blade surface and greatly reduce boundary layer separation and vortex energy loss. On this basis, the diamond supercavitation texture on the blade surface is a key technological breakthrough: by changing the local flow field shape, it actively suppresses the generation and collapse of cavitation, which not only avoids cavitation erosion on the copper alloy blades, but also effectively reduces underwater noise and shafting vibration, making the propeller more stable and durable during long-term operation.

To transform design advantages into actual performance, Lifa's engineering team has completed more than 300 iterations of CFD fluid simulation, and continuously optimized the blade profile parameters by combining test data from multiple full-scale ships. Finally, this propeller can convert more engine power into effective thrust, and has been verified by full-scale ship tests to achieve 5%-20% fuel savings, creating tangible cost benefits for shipowners. At a time when shipping fuel costs remain high, this energy-saving performance is directly transformed into the core competitiveness of enterprises.
From the initial CFD fluid simulation design, to CNC milling forming, static and dynamic balance testing, every blade embodies Lifa's technological accumulation in high efficiency and energy saving. When this propeller is installed on board, its bionic textured blades will continuously release energy-saving potential in the ocean current. It not only reduces the operating costs of a single ship, but also empowers the green upgrading of the global shipping industry with technology, making the commitment of "making navigation more economical and environmentally friendly" a reality with every rotation.
